Henri W. Tartt

Mr. Tartt is Senior Counsel at Nielsen Katibah LLP. He provides opinions on complex insurance coverage issues, and litigates first and third-party coverage matters in both state and federal court. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tartt worked at Grant, Genovese & Baratta LLP in Irvine, CA where he served as coverage counsel and practiced insurance defense.

Henri is a dyed-in-the-wool insurance guy, as he has worked in the industry for decades and earned his CPCU and ARM insurance designations along the way. Henri’s first job after university was as a Risk Control consultant for a large insurance company, and he began his legal career representing insurers in coverage matters involving commercial general liability policies. Thereafter, Henri went into private practice where he primarily handled prosecuted first-party insurance coverage matters.

Mr. Tartt has conducted insurance seminars nationwide in front of large audiences of claims adjusters. He was approved by several state departments of insurance to conduct seminars for adjusters who earned continuing-education credits to maintain their license.

Mr. Tartt has a variety of hobbies and interests. He enjoys snow skiing, reading, e-biking, and attending professional sporting events across the country with his beloved son. Last and perhaps least, Henri’s “claim to fame” is that he used to do stand-up comedy at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles on open-mic night: and legend has it that he “got some good laughs” a few times.
